Cochlear Implant

Congenital hearing loss is a major challenge in South Punjab, affecting a child’s ability to hear, speak, and communicate. Through its Cochlear Implant Program, Mukhtar A. Sheikh Memorial Welfare Hospital (MASMWH), in collaboration with Bait-ul-Maal and generous donors, provides life-changing cochlear implant surgeries to underprivileged children.
With each surgery costing approximately Rs. 2.5 million, access to treatment remains difficult for many families. To date, MASMWH has successfully performed 120 cochlear implant surgeries, including 23 during 2025–26. Currently, around 300 children are registered and awaiting treatment. Through continued donor support, MASMWH aims to help more children hear, speak, and lead fulfilling lives.
