Job Responsibilities

• Plan design and ensure implementation of quality system in the pharmacy services.
• Schedule Pharmacy & therapeutic Committee meetings, establish agenda, issue minutes and facilitate implementation of decisions taken by the Committee.
• Keep abreast of the developments in hospital pharmacy practices by attending seminars and conferences. Provide in-service training, education and development of pharmacy staff and seek to enhance their professional proficiency and provide for their upward mobility.
• Develop clinical pharmacy services such as Drug Usage Evaluation/Drug Utilization.
• Review, TPN, Cytotoxic and drug and Poison Information services. Spearhead practice research in these areas, publish articles make presentations at professional meetings and symposiums.
• Ensure that the goals and objectives of the department are being achieved.
• Ensure that conducive environment is created for proper ‘career-pathing’ of employees and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
• Review operating and capital budgets based on approved goals and objectives of the Hospital for adequacy.
• Collaborate with other relevant groups to gauge viewpoints about TPN, areas of improvement therein and undertake necessary action.

Job Specifications Education:

• Master in Pharmacy

Experience:

• 8-10 years of experience in a large tertiary care hospital

License:

• Category A registration from Pharmacy Council
