Dr. Abdur Rauf received certification of American Board of Nephrology in 2000 and of American Board of Internal Medicine in 1999.

 

Dr. Rauf graduated among top 15% students from Aga Khan University Medical College in 1991. He received Internal Medicine training from Hennepin County Medical Center (USA), a strong institution in field of clinical and academic Nephrology. He received Nephrology training from University of Washington, Seattle, USA, one of the most prestigious Nephrology training programs.

 

He served as an assistant professor of Nephrology at Aga Khan University for 2 years. He also served as Head of Nephrology at Nishtar Medical College Multan for 4 ½ years. He established a new Department of Nephrology at Nishtar Medical College and got it recognized for FCPS nephrology training. He is also the first author of a research article on Calciphylaxis in dialysis patients which was published in Kidney International, one of the most competitive journals of nephrology. He served as Consultant Nephrologist and Medical Director of Dialysis Unit at PKLI for 1 ½ years before joining Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital. He has been a member of American Society of Nephrology for more than 15 years.
