Dr. Kamran Babar served at Shalamar Hospital as Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and at Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences and Medical College as Assistant professor and Head of Cardiology Department since 2013.
Dr. Kamran is an American Diplomate Board Certified Interventional and Clinical Cardiologist, who graduated from Nishtar Medical College in 1999. He left for USA to pursue higher education after house job and returned to Pakistan after 12 years of continuous medical education. Dr. Kamran was serving as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology in University Medical Center and Paul Foster School of Medicine El Paso, Texas before coming to Lahore.
Dr. Kamran holds Six American Boards including Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Vascular Medicine. With 19 years of post-graduate Clinical Experience he has been serving in Wilcare and Shalamar Institute of Health Sciences and train under and post graduate trainees. He also served as the project director for building Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Cardiovascular Surgical OT and CVICU to provide comprehensive quality and affordable cardiac care to the patients in the region of Lahore.
He is formally trained in Coronary Angiography, Angioplasty with or without stent, Rotational Coronary Atherectomy, IVUS, FFR, Peripheral Angiography and Angioplasty with stents, Atherectomy with Mechanical , Laser, Cryographic, Rotational devices in Lower and upper extremities, Transthoracic and Transesophageal Echocardiography, Thallium and Technetium Nuclear Stress Test, Nuclear Viability Tests, Exercise Stress Test, Dobutamine or Stress Echocardiography and Single or Dual Chamber Permanent Pacemaker Implantation.
He won Doctor of the Year award twice in USA, first time for training in Internal Medicine at North Shore Hospital, NY and then as Interventional Cardiology Consultant in Del Sol, El Paso, TX.
